Cancellation and refunds

These rules apply to the R$ 99 enrolment fee paid on the in-person course enrolment page. They follow the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078/1990) and Decree No. 7,962/2013, on online purchases.
Right of withdrawal: 7 days
You may withdraw from the enrolment within 7 calendar days of payment, without giving a reason (Art. 49 of the Consumer Protection Code). The full amount paid is refunded, including the processing cost if you chose to cover it.
After the 7 days
After the withdrawal period, the enrolment fee is still refunded in full:
- if there is no class at a time that suits you; or
- if you withdraw before the school office confirms your class (date and time).
Once the class is confirmed, the enrolment fee is not refunded, unless the branch itself cancels or postpones the class and you cannot attend on another date.
How to ask
Use the “Fale com a gente” chat, in the corner of the enrolment page and of every Portuguese page of the site, choosing the subject “Pagamento ou PIX” (payment). Give the name and e-mail used for the enrolment and the course. Confirmation that your request has arrived goes to your e-mail straight away, with a reference number.
If you prefer, write to contato@cruzvermelhariodejaneiro.org, in English, Spanish or Portuguese. In that case, confirmation of receipt comes with the team's reply.
How the money is returned
As soon as the request arrives, we ask ÚnicoPag, the company that processed the payment, for a refund, and it notifies the bank or the card issuer.
- PIX: the amount goes back to the account the payment came from.
- Credit card: the charge is cancelled or, if it is already on your statement, the refund appears on one of the following statements, according to the issuing bank's schedule.
We let you know by e-mail when the refund has been made.
The course fee, on the school platform
The course fee is paid separately, on the school platform, and follows the conditions stated there at the time of payment. The 7-day right of withdrawal also applies to that purchase, made online. Questions about that payment can be sent through the same chat or by e-mail.
